How do I set a wallpaper after exporting? +
iOS 17 and 18: Open the Photos app → tap your exported wallpaper → tap the share icon → "Use as Wallpaper." Or go to Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper → Photos, and select the image.
The wallpaper is exported at the exact resolution of your iPhone's screen, so it will fit perfectly without cropping.
My widget isn't refreshing. +
iOS controls when widgets refresh — this is a system limitation, not a Margin bug. To force a refresh: long-press the widget on your home screen → Edit Widget → tap done. If it still doesn't update, remove the widget and re-add it.
Depth wallpaper isn't working on my lock screen. +
Depth effect requires iOS 17+ and a photo that iOS can detect as having a clear subject. Make sure "Depth Effect" is turned on in Margin's export settings. When setting the wallpaper, make sure "Depth Effect" is also enabled in the wallpaper preview screen (tap the ellipsis ••• button).
Time-of-day switching isn't changing my wallpaper. +
Time-of-day works via local notifications that remind you to switch, combined with Shortcuts automation. Make sure Margin has notification permission enabled: Settings → Margin → Notifications → Allow. If you've set up the automation, also check that the Shortcuts app has permission to run without asking.
How do I switch the app language? +
Margin follows your device language. To switch: Settings → General → Language & Region → iPhone Language. Margin supports English, 中文 (Simplified), and 日本語.
